Planned

  1. Headed Item 1- Minutes from Tallaght Area Committee Meeting 23rd February 2026
  2. Questions 1-12
  3. Motion 1- Proposed by Councillor L. Dunne "This Area Committee requests a detailed headed item report on the ongoing issue of illegal dumping in Montpelier Estate. The report should outline: All enforcement actions taken to date, including investigations initiated, fines issued, prosecutions pursued, and any surveillance or monitoring measures implemented; A clear timeline of interventions undertaken and proposed next steps; The level of resources currently allocated to addressing the issue, including staffing, surveillance, clean-up costs; Details of coordination with relevant internal departments, including Waste Enforcement, Environmental Services, and any other relevant departments; A targeted action plan with defined timeframes aimed at resolving this persistent problem. Given the ongoing impact on residents' quality of life, this Committee seeks a structured, time-bound, and adequately resourced response to address and prevent further illegal dumping in the estate."
  4. Motion 2- Proposed by Councillor A. Smyth "To ask the manager to proceed with the installation of CCTV at the bottom of Aylesbury to deter the ongoing issue of illegal dumping."
  5. Motion 3- Proposed by Councillor N. Whelan "This area committee notes the efforts by residents of Aylesbury and Old Bawn to keep the area clean and tidy. Despite their efforts, there is a black spot for illegal dumping at the end of Aylesbury field on Dalepark Road. Measures already taken have not deterred this, so this committee calls on the manager to assess the suitability of the area for CCTV, in line with the LGMA's code of practice."

  7. Motion 5- Proposed by Councillor J. Spear "This area committee agrees that the Council should urgently attend to its property in Marlfield, Tallaght (details supplied) and make the urgent necessary repairs to bring this home back into use. The address is 18 Marlfield Grove, Tallaght, Dublin 24. The home has been vacant for 2 years and not maintained at all, causing water damage to the adjacent property."
  8. Motion 6-Proposed by Councillor J. Spear "This area committee agrees that the manager should assess the entrance at Castle Park, Tallaght (details supplied) and modify it to deter e-scooter drivers from entering the estate at high speeds."
  9. Motion 7-Proposed by Councillor L. Dunne "This Area Committee calls on the Manager of the Architectural Department to urgently undertake a full survey and assessment of the Ardmore Community Centre building, with a view to identifying the works required to bring the facility into full compliance with current health and safety and fire regulations. Furthermore, this Committee calls on the Manager to engage directly with the Community Section to explore an expedited and practical solution that will facilitate the reopening of the building for community use as soon as possible."
  10. Motion 8- Proposed by Councillor A. Smyth "This area committee requests an interagency meeting (or a report from the new safety partnership) to discuss the on-going concerns of safety and anti-social behaviour across the Tallaght area, which has been highlighted by many motions in the Tallaght ACM over the last number of months."
